How to play Sudoku

The grid has 9 rows, 9 columns and 9 boxes of 3×3 squares. Fill every empty square with a number from 1 to 9 so that each row, each column and each box contains every number exactly once. Every puzzle has one solution, and you get a new one each time you play.

Controls

• Tap a square, then tap a number to fill it in. ⌫ erases.
• Turn on ✏️ Notes to pencil in the numbers a square could be.
• Pick Easy, Medium, Hard or Expert from the level menu at the top.
• Keyboard: arrow keys to move, 1–9 to enter, Backspace to erase, N for notes.

Tips

Look for a row, column or box that is almost full, then find which numbers are missing. Placing a number clears it from the notes in the same row, column and box.

A wrong number turns red and counts as a mistake. Three mistakes ends the game. Your best time for each difficulty is saved in your browser.
