How to play Minesweeper

Dig squares to uncover the board. A number tells you how many mines touch that square, including diagonals. Use the numbers to work out where the mines are and flag them. Uncover every safe square to clear the level. Your first dig is always safe.

Controls

• Tap or click a square to dig.
• Long-press, right-click, or switch the button to 🚩 Flag to mark a mine.
• Tap a number whose mines are all flagged to clear the squares around it.
• Keyboard: Tab to a square, Enter to dig, F to flag.

Tips

Start from the edges of open areas, where the numbers give you the most information. A 1 touching only one hidden square means that square is a mine.

Pick any of five board sizes from the level menu at the top, from Tiny (8 mines) to Expert (34 mines). Your best time for each size is saved in your browser.
